La Rotunda is an Italian restaurant in the iconic North Rotunda building set on the banks of the River Clyde.

Our menu includes classic Italian meat and fish dishes as well as pizza and pasta favorites and is served alongside our fantastic wine list, cold beers and soft drinks for the kids.

During the summer months, you will be able to eat outside in our alfresco dining area overlooking the Clyde.

Drop in before a concert for a bite to eat and ditch the car with us in our free guest car-park, available for the duration of your show. We also have free onsite parking available to our guests.

North Rotunda and Harbour Tunnel History

From 1890 to 1896 three tunnels each some 5m in diameter, were constructed between Tunnel Street in Finnieston and Mavisbank Quay for the Glasgow Harbour Tunnel Company.

One, at a higher level, was reserved for pedestrians while the other two below carried north- and southbound horse-drawn vehicles. At either end the domed rotundas covered 24m deep shafts containing hydraulic lifts and stairs to take users to and from the tunnels.
